Process Development and Chemistry

Each new sequence brings its own specificities. Oligonucleotide synthesis is not a one-size-fits-all process. In order to get the best yield and reduce costs, some development is necessary. We perform small scale synthesis and purification under different conditions in order to develop a scalable process that will control the impurities and will optimize the output reproducibly.

This is also a critical step in the CMC development and will allow us to set specifications for the oligonucleotide based on the real capabilities of the process.
We have experience with multiple chemistries:

  • DNA, Phosphorodiesters and Phosphorothioates
  • RNA, Phosphorodiesters and Phosphorothioates
  • 2'- modified RNA
  • Duplex RNA
  • Gapmers (XXX-DNA-XXX)
  • Chimeras (DNA/RNA/ANA/LNA)
  • Aptamers with various backbones
  • Oligonucleotide PEGylation

Oligonucleotide Modifications (Cholesterol - non-animal origin, modified nucleosides)- due to our capabilities in small molecule synthesis, we can offer combined development including the synthesis of your specific modifiers making your QA and supply chain management easier.

Enzyme and Peptide Conjugates - our sister company Peptisyntha, part of the Solvay group, can collaborate with Girindus for the development of oligo-peptide strategies.
